SKB is working on six projects for youth, women and children of backward rural community in the field of education, health coverage, nutrition and environmental awareness. Our activities are dependent upon the generous charity of benevolent organizations and kind-hearted well-wishers from India and Abroad.
Higher Education Project provides financial assistance to needy meritorious students for continuing their studies from Higher Secondary to Under Graduate and Post Graduate studies including Medical, Engineering, Nursing and the like technical and vocational streams. Financial support to them ranges from Rs. 500/- to 2000/- per month besides books, other subsidiary educational and medical assistance. Vivekananda library with more than eight thousand ten books support their academic need. Results of various examinations are highly satisfactory.
Many more remain unattended due to paucity of funds. Students supported are graduating as professional engineers, doctors, nurses, office staff, etc. upon completion of their education. (number of beneficiaries : 460 for the financial year 2017-18)
moreThe main objective of this project is to improve the condition of the rural backward children through education, nutrition and health care. It provides free remedial coaching, study materials, clothing, nutritious refreshment & health care to rural distressed children coming mostly from the families of farm laborers, brick-field workers, go-down coolies and rickshaw pullers etc. number of beneficiaries : 662 children from 12 villages at the outskirt of Midnapore are given are given free regular remedial coaching from Pre-nursery to Madhyamik level. Classes on Computer, Spoken English, Drawing and Painting, Music, Dance, PT, Sports and Yoga are conducted as part of our daily routine. Children enjoy light tiffin, fruits and milk six days a week year around. They also receive books, study materials, uniform, winter clothing regularly.
moreAim of Women Self Independence Promoting Scheme is to spread women education, prepare them for economic stability, save waste of talents, eradicate social evils like early marriage, torture and other women atrocities. SKB supports by giving a financial support (@Rs12,000/- only per annum). In rural villages, SKB helps them to achieve economic stability in the society leading to self- fulfillment. (number of beneficiaries : 45 for the financial year 2017-18)
To build a Girl Child’s future SKB supports a Girl Child’s studies from Class II to Class VII by giving a financial support of Rs. 10000/- only per month for Six years. To continue her studies for two years more (VIII & class X) SKB supports by enhancing contribution to Rs. 12000/- only per month. In each of the cases the sponsor can remain in touch with their sponsored child and be reassured of her progress. (number of beneficiaries: 35 for the financial year 2017-18)
