With profound grief and sorrow, this is to inform that Rekha Sarkar, Founder Trustee, General Secretary and Chief Functionary of Sarada Kalyan Bhandar (Former Head, Dept. of Philosophy, Raja N. L. Khan Women's College, Midnapore) left for her heavenly abode on 30th January, 2024 at 6:55 a.m. at Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Kolkata.
We pray that her soul rests in peace in "Ramakrishnaloka". Late (Prof. and Major) Rekha Sarkar joined Raja N L Khan Women's College(autonomous), Midnapore in 1958 and retired in 1995 as Head of the Department of Philisophy. Her dedication and relentless service towards Sarada Kalyan Bhandar will always be remembered. She stood against all odds like a strong pillar of the organization. We pay our heartiest and respectful homage to her departed soul.
Late Smt. Mitali Das left for her heavenly abode on 26.03.2023 at her residence in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. She was one of trustees and founder member of Sarada Kalyan Bhandar. Her immense contribution and dedicated service towards Sarada Kalyan Bhandar will be remembered for ever. We will always miss her vibrant and energetic presence in all spheres of activities of Sarada Kalyan Bhandar.
Krishna Trust and Calcutta Research Group, Kolkata has conferred on Sarada Kalyan Bhandar (SKB) Medinipur, the fifth Krishna Memorial Award in recognition of SKB’s contribution towards working for Women’s (particularly girl child) Education. The function is held on 16th January, 2018 at EZCC, Aikatan Conference Room IB-201, Sector 3, Salt Lake City, Kolkata 700106.

On this, my first visit to SKB, I have been touched and gratified by what I have seen among the trustees, staff, instructors and children associated with the Trust and the children project. The raising of the school since my organization’s last visit is a potent symbol of the strength of SKB’s importance to its 9 surrounding communities as well as(of course!) a vital upgrade to its ability to serve its contingency. The devotion of past students to SKB as shown by their serving as staff or volunteers at SKB, speaks well of your respectful philosophy and nurturance of the human spirit. Though education and all to ours of empowerment.
